Meet the newly designed Clue app. The same safe, science-based app, now with 40+ highly-requested new tracking options, a fresh sleek design, and more accessibility. Powered by requests, needs, and high fives from real people, just like you, who use Clue. The changes in the newly designed Clue app were created to further empower you to understand your body with information backed by science and vetted by experts.

Our community is the reason we exist. We want to make sure that the Clue app is supporting you in the best way possible and is ready to meet the needs of everyone who uses it, no matter their experience. From brand new, detailed ‘Feelings’ and ‘Spotting’ tracking options to better accessibility for people with visual impairments, we’ve been hard at work to make sure this version of Clue will work better than ever, for everyone with a cycle.

We can’t wait to share the newly designed app with you. It’s the best version of Clue yet. And it’s coming soon with your next app update

Important changes to Clue Postpartum

Tracking with Clue Postpartum will be temporarily unavailable. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and are currently working on a solution to give you the postpartum support you need, as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can switch to Clue Period Tracking where you can continue logging your experience.

Your period may start as soon as 6 weeks after giving birth (1). Tracking bleeding when you think your period might be returning could be helpful. If you are ever worried about your postpartum bleeding, talk to your healthcare provider.

Once you’ve switched to Clue Period Tracking, you’ll get access to week-by-week postpartum articles and supportive information directly in your Content Tab. You can find this by opening your Clue app → Content Tab → Scroll down and tap ‘Postpartum’. We want to make sure you feel supported and informed throughout the weeks after birth and are doing everything we can to create a better Clue Postpartum experience. We’re currently expanding the articles, support, and information available to people who use Clue Postpartum and look forward to sharing these in-depth resources with you in the very near future.

We know that this change may interrupt your experience with Clue and we’re sorry for not being able to provide you with postpartum-specific tracking right away. If you have any questions about this change, please contact our Support Team. They’ll be happy to help.

What’s exciting about the new Clue?

We’ve been hard at work creating the tracking options, settings, and features requested by the millions of people who use Clue. The additions and improvements in the newly designed Clue app will bring us one step closer to our goal of inclusive and accessible science-based support for everyone with a cycle. Ready to dive in? Here’s what you can expect with your next app update.

3 brand new tracking categories. Start tracking ‘Leisure’, ‘PMS’, and ‘Spotting’ to get a deeper insight into your unique, cycle-related patterns.

Why did we make these changes? For starters, not all bleeding is period bleeding. We want you to be able to track and spot the differences, so we’ve added the ‘Spotting’ category for more clarity. Speaking of clarity, we want to break down the myth that PMS is just an emotion, so we’ve given it its own category, so you can track this experience, and everything that comes with it, in its own right. The addition of ‘Leisure’ gives you the opportunity to track more social experiences, so you don’t have to only associate your cycle with things like pain and bleeding. You can now log feel-good experiences like dates and vacations, to see the full picture of your cycle-related experiences, not just the painful parts.

These brand-new tracking categories are evidence-based and were added to give more depth to the big picture of your tracked experiences. With the newly designed app, you can better understand the different layers of your unique cycle, from pre-period spotting to the ins and outs of PMS.

40+ additional tracking options. With over 100 tracking options in total, Clue is now more equipped than ever before to help you track your cycle-related experiences.

New additions to your tracked experience possibilities include comprehensive ‘Pain’ options like ‘Migraine’ and ‘Headache’, expanded ‘Sex life’ experiences like ‘Low sex drive’ and ‘Masturbation’, ‘Exercise’ choices like ‘Walking’, ‘Pilates’, and ‘Rest day’ to meet your active needs, and ‘Feelings’ (formerly ‘Emotions’) that reflect more personal experiences like ‘Excited’, ‘Insecure’, and ‘Grateful’.

And so many more. Powered by feedback from real people who use Clue, these new tracking options were designed with you (and your cycle) in mind.

17 languages to choose from. The newly designed Clue app is available in Dutch, Indonesian, and Swedish, giving you a total of 17 language options for tracking with Clue. Now even more people can track their cycle, read articles and tips from the experts, and learn about their bodies, in the language they prefer. One less barrier. One more reason to track with Clue.

Fresh, sleek, seamless design. Tracking icons are now more colorful, with a people-friendly design and the same straightforward, factual approach that’s synonymous with the Clue app. Completely redesigned screens make navigating the app easier, so you can find what you need, when you need it.

Premium Customer Care. With Clue Plus, you’ll now receive quicker responses and help from our dedicated Support Team. Enjoy faster answers to your questions, in addition to the benefits you already know from Clue Plus, like 6 months of advanced period predictions, articles and advice from the experts, and in-depth insights and analysis of your unique cycle, all at your fingertips.

What’s changed?

Wondering where to find certain features in the newly-designed Clue app? Here’s a roundup of what’s still under construction.

  • Clue Connect is unavailable for now. If you’d like to receive information about when it will be back, make sure you’re opted into getting emails from Clue.

  • Reminders are temporarily unavailable but will be back very soon, so you can continue using them for your upcoming periods and PMS, as well as regular tracking reminders.

  • The visual pill reminder, where you see yellow empty tracking dots in the Cycle View, as well as the notifications, are unavailable right now. Pill reminders will be back soon. In the meantime we recommend setting up a reminder somewhere else. You can still continue tracking your pill in-take using the ‘Birth control pill’ tracking category.

  • After you’ve updated the app, it may take a while for you to be able to see the details linked to your previously tracked data in the Calendar View. Don’t worry, all your data has been saved. We’re currently working on making it visible again.

  • Some settings in the More Menu are still being built. These will all be back soon. This includes birth control settings, fertile window settings, and the passcode feature.

  • Data export will be back soon. If you regularly export your data (to share with your healthcare provider) we recommend you do it now before the update, since this feature will be temporarily unavailable. Follow these steps.

  • The cycle averages in the Analysis Tab will also temporarily be unavailable, as well as the Recurrent Symptoms feature in Clue Plus.

Turn on your auto-updates to be one of the first to see these features again as soon as they’re back in your Clue app.
