IMVAHA is run by a large, diverse, international team of microbiologists, epidemiologists, and social scientists working together across Switzerland, Peru, Cameroon and Belgium. Based at institutions including the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, the University of Zurich, the Universidad Nacional de la Amazonía Peruana, Centre de Recherche sur les Maladies Émergentes et Réémergentes Cameroon, and University of Antwerp, the team brings together expertise from the lab bench to participatory community work. Through this transdisciplinary approach, IMVAHA studies vaginal and menstrual health not as an isolated biomedical condition, but as a lived experience shaped by context and everyday choices.
